You can’t turn on the TV or read a magazine today and not be bombarded with dozens of messages about losing weight or the epidemic of obesity but many people have the opposite problem. They have no need to lose weight in fact they actually want to gain weight. They want to gain muscle mass to be more precise.

If you’re one of those people I’m going to give you some muscle building tips that you can use to achieve your goals. Working out without some type of plan is going to make it take much longer to see some results. If you want to build muscle quickly you need to have a solid workout routine and eat a proper diet.

The proper diet for building muscle will actually have you eating more calories than you are used to but those calories have to come from healthy foods not from Oreos and Twinkies. You’ll want to eat plenty of protein. Things like chicken, turkey, fish, and lean beef are all excellent sources of protein. In addition to protein you will need to eat plenty of carbohydrates to provide the energy your muscles need during your workouts. Stay away from processed foods and eat complex carbohydrates such as pasta, potatoes, brown rice, and whole wheat

In addition to your proteins and carbohydrates you’ll want to eat plenty of vegetables to provide all of the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your body needs. One more secret for fast muscle growth is to get plenty of sleep. Your body needs plenty of rest when you are working out but it’s also when you’re asleep that your body repairs the damage done to your muscles during strenuous workouts. When you work out, you actually make microscopic tears in the muscle tissue. When you are asleep these tears are repaired and the muscles will grow and become stronger.
